First Mivva Box of 2013!

Ok so I gotta onto the beauty box bandwagon thanks to Samantha, who got herself the February Mivva Box and it had really good stuff! Very delayed post since it's July already but I'm going to review it anyway.

But once I opened it, I was aww,man! Totally forgotten that it was Mother's Day so all the products they sent are for mature skin. I passed the box to my mum and said Happy Mother's Day and she was like What??? She didn't want anything from the box. -_-lll

Danahan RGII Premium EX Deep Wrinkle Line Cream. Which I might try one day when I feel like it. Not that I have any obvious wrinkles but maybe it might lift my face a bit, who knows.

Gave this to my mum cause it's some Detoxing treatment.

I tried the sleeping mask and it gave me glowing skin the next day but I noticed some spots appeared on  my cheeks too so I stopped using it. The pains of having sensitive skin. I don't even know what it is sensitive to.

A Mother's Day card!

In a way, I assumed that they will check my beauty profile on the website and send me products based on that profile so I was disappointed. I thought they would at least consider it since my age is clearly stated there and I did not request it to be a gift box. Lesson learn, do not buy boxes which falls on special occasions like Mother's Day unless you are planning to get one for your mum.

Roxy's Dare Yourself Day 3: Mid Valley Fashion Week!

I bet most of the other Roxy Girls were waiting for this event the most! We had to go shoe hunting for shoes which are strappy and with at least 2 inch heels and either in beige, white or pastel colors.

Initially I wanted to hunt around Sungei Wang or Times Square since they sell cheap shoes but I ended searching in Fahrenheit instead because there's a floor with quite a number of shoe shops.

The minute I saw these, I was like omg, I need to try this on! I did, it was comfortable and the best part was it was only RM45 because it was on the sales section. Like say what!

However, I did not do the 'walk around the shop for 10 rounds' in these shoes because I was rushing to get dinner before the shops starts closing. So when I walked in these during the fashion show rehearsal, my toes kept slipping out because my feet was sweating like Niagara Falls cause I was so nervous. That made me walk like a clumsy duck and I was advised to get peep toe shoes since my toes kept slipping or get padding for my brown heels. Then I realized that the shoes were too big for me, that's one of the reasons why it kept slipping out so easily.

So I was upset that I didn't do very well at rehearsals because of my shoes, my nerves and I tortured my poor feet. So after rehearsals we girls went to get brunch then I went shoe-hunting with Ana, Natasha, and Ramona.

I couldn't find any white or nude peep toes at all from the usual chain stores like Vincci and Nose but luckily I found one really pretty pair from VOIR.

Thankfully my toes doesn't slip out too much in this pair. 

All of us got our hair done at A-Cut Above, Mid Valley and make-up done in Inglot! They had to put our hair up in a bun so that our curls can last longer until the fashion show.

Hats galore in the Roxy store!

Actually I have been aiming at this dress for the longest time, even before the fashion show! So I was really happy that I got to wear this dress for the fashion show! I think it was fate. I was known as the bride for that day cause I wore a cute peach rose hairband too.

Omg, I was so nervous and I watched the video to see how I did at the catwalk. Gawd, I was walking too fast and posing too fast. Mum said I wasn't smiling big enough. Too nervous and scared to do that, mum!

It was a night to remember. Being able to do this again is really an honor and the girls made it more fun and awesome! I love everyone's outfit! This year's collection is way better than last year, more pretty dresses and  tops! I wish I could have it all!

P.S: There was this really yummy mochi that was served during the Fashion Show and I really want to eat some again. Sadly, I don't know the brand so if anyone knows the brand please let me know in the comments. :)

Roxy's Dare Yourself Day 2: Day out in Sunway Lagoon!

Well, yesterday was a very sad day for us Malaysians because elections was yet again won by the government using their sneaky, conniving ways of recounting ballots, giving presents to rural towns and blaming it on the Chinese. They better step it up since they won unfairly. We won't give up because there's still the 2018's election. I'll be there this time!

Back to my Roxy Girl adventure! This is what happened at Day 2, 9 April 2013. We had an awesome time in Sunway Lagoon!

I was super excited for this because we got to do Wave Riding again and we got to try a different board too this year! It's like a mini surfboard but thinner and it was hard! I managed to stand for a few seconds without holding onto the instructor's arm but I crashed into the water but it was FUN!

I seriously want to get that Rash Vest! Too bad I don't see it in stores. So helpful against fashion disasters and it also covers your tummy.

After the photoshoot, we set off to ride on the ATV's!

It was a little slow. Poor Ana, her ATV's engine kept dying cause it was too slow. After the ATV, we went on the flying fox! It was the first time I tried Sunway's Flying Fox and it was alright! Felt a bit of an adrenaline rush but I prefer the adrenaline kick I got from the mini surfboard because you'll feel like you're floating on water and about to fall at the same time. Too complicated to explain but a must TRY!

Off to lunch after the Flying Fox! Has Spaghetti Bolognese and it was a nice portion and the taste was ok. We went to do some video recordings after that and one of the stuffs we did was formed the Roxy word on the sand. I will post the video done by the official photographers in the next post which will be about the Fashion Show! 

We got to play the rides after we're done with everything so the first thing we went  onto was the Vuvuzela,  the world's largest water slide! We went on that ride 3 times cause it was that good! MUST GO! Here's Ana's video where it shows a scene where we ride on the Vuvuzela.

The next day, my whole body was in pain and my neck hurt so bad. I can conclude that going to Sunway Lagoon is a workout except you don't feel like you're sweating most of the time.

Roxy's Dare Yourself Day 1: Meet & Greet

So I jumped in on the bandwagon and joined the Roxy Dare Yourself competition. They had a roadshow in uni and I bumped into some friends so I just joined it again for fun cause I want to try out Inglot's make-up done with Inglot's make-up artist.

The bike is so cute! I want one so that I can actually learn how to ride a bicycle.

Like last year, there was a Meet & Greet with the rest of the Top 15 girls! This time we have some girls who traveled from Sabah and Penang to be there. Some of the girls were from Taylor's University too! So exciting to meet all of them from different walks of life. :)

Me, Yasyka and Natasha were the only ones from last year who managed to get into the Top 15 this year again! It was awesome to see them again!

We were given a visor, t-shirt and board shorts with some tags and car stickers in our goodie bags. I got the purple tee, WOOHOO! Too bad it is a size bigger on me and the shorts too so I shall go for the baggy look.

Aamelia's my senior from Taylor's University, Geena's super tall as you can see and she's from Sunway University, then we all met Kasumi who's Roxy's Ambassador for Malaysia and she's only 15! She's really sweet and she's a surfer.

We had lunch at Boardriders Cafe which just opened recently in Mid Valley Megamall! The sandwiches are delicious!

Picture credits to Amber Chia. Right after lunching in Boardriders Cafe and a visit to Inglot and some video interviews, we head off to Amber Chia's Academy in Jaya One. So lucky to be taught by catwalk guru, Benjamin Tiong to catwalk like a proper model and Amber Chia on posing for the camera. Her adorable son, Ashton was there too!

Well at the end of the lessons, we were exhausted already. My legs were sore from wearing heels for too long too so my love for flip-flops or any shoes with low heels will never change. But it was an amazing experience and an honour to be taught by professionals in their forte. :)

A little sneak peek for Day 2!

Mataking Island,Sabah

So the beau's family invited me to join them on a trip to Sabah and I was really shocked and surprised they even invited me because we were still at the early stages. So the beau told me that we were going to stay at Mataking Island for 2 nights then 1 night in Tawau. I was like 'Mata-what?'. Never heard of it before so did some googling and the pictures were like this.

Hard to believe because no way you can find an island in West Malaysia with a sea this blue.

So I googled for reviews on Trip advisor and such and there were mixed reviews. They said since they transfer clean water from the main land to the island, water must be used sparingly. So I was worried about having no water to bath or to flush in the island.

But I was excited that I am travelling to East Malaysia for the first time and Mataking is close to Sipadan island so it should be as pretty as the pictures on Google.

It was my first time flying with Air Asia too!

I don't like the sandwich cause there was not enough filling and sauce.


So once we got to Tawau, the Reef Dive Resort which is the only resort on Mataking Island has a personal bus that will take you to the jetty in Semporna and they have their own speedboat to bring you to the island.

We didn't know that the Sulu issue started the minute we got to Mataking. So after we left Mataking, there were police checkpoints everywhere in Tawau then we searched the news online and found out about the Sulu thing.

We didn't know because Digi didn't follow me to Mataking so I couldn't tweet pictures or call or message or even update about the awesomeness.

Semporna's sea was polluted and yucky but the sea got bluer as the speedboat heads further away and this is what you see once you get to Mataking. Where can you get 3 different shades of blue sea in West Malaysia? Only in East Malaysia!

So beautiful that it literally took my breath away! The boat ride was 45 minutes of bump hitting but it was so worth it! You could practically see fishes and jellyfish in the sea without needing to strain your eyes. I was so excited to jump into the sea already! We had welcome drinks and we were brought to the only restaurant in the island, Simply 'Enak' Restaurant for lunch before checking in.

The food was a downer because there wasn't much variety, mostly Asian cooking and I think it's because the resort practices marine conservation, you can't get much seafood to eat. Only prawns and sometimes fish. Some dishes were repetitive, as you stay there longer. Since we were starving, anything was good for us at that time.

After lunch we were shown to our rooms. The staff helped us to carry our luggage to our rooms and was very friendly! We stayed at the King Chalets so beau and I got our own chalet and the rooms were huge!

There's a shower too! For some reason the water drains out really slow. I think that's how they are trying to save water but even so, this is sort of a 5-star resort, so shouldn't they already have a good plumbing system? And also a water filter system that will provide clean water instead of getting water from the main land.

During the day when there's low tide, we can actually walk to Mataking Kecil Island too!

All geared up in my Roxy bikini and ready to walk over! Sadly, we didn't because no one was there and the staffs were talking in walkie-talkies in every step we take and the resort's speedboat was also following us so we chickened out. Like what's with the hush hush operation?

 Then we found out from one of the staff that Mataking is only 15 minutes away from Philippines so I guess that's why security is tight on this island. There's a police shack too. At night, you can see soldiers carrying guns patrolling the island.


On the next day, we rented a boat for RM250 for 4 hours and we went island hopping to Timba-Timba Island, which is one of the small islands which can be found around Mataking Island.

This dog who lives on this island was so cute and friendly! She greeted us the moment we arrived on the island and she was guiding us too!

She likes to dip into the ocean too!

Her fur was so nice because of the sea water and if we could bring her back we would but too bad she guards the island with the other guards who lives on that island.

Then after walking around a bit on this island, we were brought to 3 different snorkeling sites!

Ok so while I was getting off the boat at one of the snorkeling sites, I was grabbing onto this bar but as I jumped off the boat, I forgotten to let go of the bar so my left fingers were stuck in between them. The pain was bearable but still thank god, beau's dad noticed my agony and helped to get my fingers out. Thankfully I can still move my fingers but it was bruised really badly.

Beau also so worried but I still can smile for the camera and went to snorkel a bit more.

THE BEST SNORKELING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! I even saw a turtle at one of the sites! So many beautiful corals and fishes!

So awesome until I didn't notice that my face was inches away from a jellyfish too. Thankfully, I didn't get stung.

Came back to the hotel then we saw this dude here lazing around in the diver's pool. He was huge and fat! Saw a lot of little ones around the island too. Don't know what they are but they are one of the island's inhabitants.

I'm more surprised that there are peacocks on the island when there's so many lizards around the island but they are in a cage so nothing much to worry there.

We were waiting for the sunset but it was taking ages so I asked the beau to take some silhouette shots!

There's a watchtower on the island too and it was a really long climb up but the view on top was beautiful!

Turtle hatchery! Too bad that we came at the wrong season. Turtle season is on October.

The Jacuzzi outside of Jamu Spa which is the only spa place on the island. I heard that you can to book it if you wanna use it.

I miss this beautiful place already! I miss the sea and the beach and the fishes and the dog and snorkeling. :(

It's definitely a place that I want to come back to. We stayed in Tawau for a night and beau's dad's friend brought us to eat yummy food!

You know those crispy kuey teow noodles with the egg sauce that we get in KL, well this one is Sabah's version except with thin vermicelli noodles and they fry the egg with the noodles!

OMG THIS WAS SO GOOD! The soup/ sauce was omg so good and I don't know how they keep the noodles moist even though it is fried together with the egg. This AWESOME noodles is found in Papa's Kopitiam, Sabah.

Then at night he brought us to eat seafood! Too bad that during that time there was the Sulu incident and most of the shops are closed so we had to eat at an expensive seafood place. But it's still good! :)

I want to go back to Sabah to eat that noodles again though and of course to visit the other islands too!
