Random photoshoot

Last month my friends and I did a mini photoshoot to take pictures for my friend's make-up portfolio and at the same time I could use the pictures to submit for a competition. :) So I packed almost half of my closet there cause I don't know what to wear and I brought a bunch of accessories too. My friends said I looked like I was running from home and actually I could with that much clothes,hahaha! So Amanda, Emily and I went to Amanda's friend, Carlyn's house to get the make up done.

Changed and it's time to do the hair and Carlyn had to rush because she's meeting her cousin so she had to speed curl it.

Speed curl or not, it looks really good! It must be her magic curler, I should get that curler. Haha!

After that Amanda,Emily and I went to Tropicana City Mall to get lunch cause we were starving and we can't function without food in our system. We had lunch at this small bakery/cafe place called Pastry Culture' because they were having a lunch promotion where you get pasta with a bottle of mineral water and a dessert of the day for only RM9.90 if I'm not mistaken and we think it's an awesome deal. We get to choose the toppings and the sauce for our pasta too! The pasta was really good because it was cooked individually instead of all together so the taste is consistent, the downside was it took a while to get to us and they gave us a really good Blackforest cake as a dessert. If I ever go back there again I promise to take lotsa pictures of it and write a review. :)

So after we recharged, we went to a spot which I remembered has a pretty nice backdrop for taking pictures and I changed into the super high heels that Carlyn borrowed me, I still wonder how you girls walk in these kind of shoes cause I almost tripped a few times.

Emily was the photographer that day and she was really patient cause I am not exactly an expert in posing. Look at Amanda and Emily taking the infamous toilet mirror shot while I was changing to another outfit.

Went back to the same spot again to take pictures.

Damn those shoes made my legs look so long. The good side of wearing sky high heels.

I should invest in one cause it can act as a weapon too,one throw and if I have good aim,it can actually hurt someone. Ladies get a pair of sky high heels instead of pepper spray.

I sorta support local music.

Most of the public in Malaysia immediately changes the channel especially radio channel once they hear that they are playing local music but occasionally I'll just listen to see what kind of music is famous in the local scene at the moment. I have some favourites and I'll share it to you guys here, take it as an introduction to what music does Malaysians usually make. It's a mix of old and new music.

My utmost favourite currently is called Stay by Estrella. I have been looking for this song for a long time ever since I saw a glimpse of it on TV and I was ecstatic when I found it on Youtube. XD



Then we have our very famous Mizz Nina who collaborated with famous singers such as Colby O'Donis and Florida.


Siti Nurhaliza's music before she got married to that rich man was really good too. She was so famous before her marriage to the point that she even performed in the Royal Albert Hall. It's a huge achievement especially for a Malaysian artist to be able to perform there, it shows that there are people from other countries who listen to our music.

Kyoto Protocol is new to me and they certainly impressed me!

Well this is what I can list out for now but I hope that more people are aware that Malaysians do make good music too! Especially the current generation who's obsess with Justin Bieber and One Direction.

We are the In Crowd and We The Kings!

I'm finally done with my fourth semester! More time to blog now! Been postponing this post for so long already. So this is another last minute concert that I went with my best friends and we were chilling in Chatime before we head to the concert venue.

Really AWESOME POPCORN CHICKEN! I didn't know Chatime sells fried chicken like the ones you can get from the Shihlin Taiwan Food shop.

I thought we were late and the line would be super long but surprisingly it wasn't and the venue was not filled up,maybe only half of it was.

Bunkface took the stage to perform first! Still can't stand the lead singer's hair.

This is Kyoto Protocol and it was our first time seeing them and listening to their  music and I gotta say, they are pretty good! Their music is quite funky with catchy beats.

This is Oh Chentaku. I don't really like their music as much as I love rock music, theirs is just not my cup of tea.

After the performances from the local acts, we waited for about an hour for We Are The In Crowd to get ready which is really normal because the sound system in Malaysia sucks literally. Lots of screaming whenever one of the members come out to do some adjusting. I am not familiar with this band but once they start playing,I knew that I was going to like them.PLUS! There are hot guy members in the band! Like Cameron Hurley and Jordan Eckes. ;)

Yes,I took lotsa Jordan's pictures because I thought he was the hottest and the other girls also thought he was the hottest until I turned my head to Cameron Hurley and he gave his megawatt smile at me, I nearly died of happiness so now I am Team Cameron! It's sad that the sound system was so bad that I couldn't hear Taylor's voice really well over the music but it was a good show by them!

After concert look, all sweaty and pumped up for We The Kings!

Bumped into Abu and his friend too! He's a self-admitted We The Kings fanboy. Turns out his friend is Samantha's primary school friend,such a small world. :)

Then finally We The Kings came out and Travis was so sweet and friendly! He apologized about how the sound system is not working and he actually sang most of the songs acoustically which was so beautiful. When all of us sang together,it was like we are one with the band. He has a beautiful voice,no need any retouching at all!

Since it ended really late and the place was kinda dark,I couldn't see my phone but once I got home I saw this!My phone's case turned pink and I was like HOLY WTH happened then I remembered about the heart shaped red paper cause my hands were stained with it too. -_-lll

I'll be going back to Ipoh, my hometown for a night so there'll be no Wi-fi at my grandparent's place but hopefully I'll have time to go to a coffee place with Wi-fi so that I can blog about this and also start on my assignments. I CAN'T WAIT TO EAT IPOH FOOD! XD

My 10 Favourite Food in Turkey.

Another I miss something post. I miss Turkish food a lot! You can't get good ones in Malaysia and some places selling them are overpriced too. I don't mind going back to Turkey to just eat. Someday, I will have my own private jet and I could just fly to Turkey to eat or visit anytime I want. A girl could always dream. :-)

I think I love almost everything I ate there so it was very hard to choose the 10 nicest ones! I surprised many people there like my host families and friends because a petite girl like me can finish a plate of Iskender kebab, ask for more rice (OMG I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN I SAW RICE THERE! Can't live without rice. XD) and basically just eat so much. I did gain some weight from that trip which is good cause I need the weight!

My 10 Favourite Food in Turkey(not in any order)

This is Sulu Kofte, meatballs in carrots and potatoes broth. SO GOOD! My host mums' made it for me and I always go for 2nd servings. I miss my host mums' and their cooking. :-(

 This is called Manti. It's something like ravioli and its covered in yogurt and some spices. The best one that I had was somewhere in Besevler, Akin and Bugra brought Anya and I there and it was like a buddies date because my buddy was Akin and Anya's buddy was Bugra. I miss those two boys, they were the few of the nicest people that I have ever met in Turkey.

This one is called Gozleme. It has minced meat and spices inside and usually you roll it and then you eat it. It's like a thicker version of a Roti Canai and with filling. Beside it, is a drink called Ayran, which is plain yogurt mixed with water and salt.

This soup is called Corba and it's so good omg,just thinking about it makes my mouth water!Those white stuff are like noodles and it's like a vegetarian soup. I had this almost every once a week at my workplace over there.

Omg,this one is like one of the most awesomest things that have ever eaten in my life! This is called Dolma cause it does not contain meat inside, the one that contains meat inside is called Sarma.It's rice cooked with herbs and wrapped with grape leaves and it is kept in a container filled with water and usually people will boil it when you want to eat it because it taste better when its hot and it is eaten with yogurt. I have never ate so much yogurt in a span of 1week in my life.

This is a traditional baked rice with herbs and spices and pieces of beef. You can get this in Beypazari.

This is Cigborek! It's deep fried pastry that contains minced meat inside! SO SO SO GOOD! Mouth-watering also!

Akin brought me to this very famous place which sells the AWESOME Cigborek above! Many local celebrities dined there before and it is located in Eskisehir, which is just an hour train ride from Ankara.

RICE!!!!!!!!!!! XD The way they cooked their rice is different than the Asian people where we use steam to cook our rice or a rice cooker. They will first cook the uncooked rice with oil on a pan then they will pour boiling water onto the rice and let it simmer on low heat until cooked.

I don't know the name of the dessert on the left but the one on the right is called BACLAVA!!! *throws confetti around* I LOVE THEM BOTH! One of my host mums' made that dessert on the left and IT SO AWESOME TOO OMG!!! Her family and her neighbour has always made a gathering every once a week to catch up and share gossips so I was really happy that I get to join them and meet new people and eat awesome food too. :-)

I saved the best for last. May I present to you one of the most AWESOMEST dessert I have ever eaten in my entire life! THE KUNEFE TOPPED WITH TURKISH ICE-CREAM! Omg, the sweet cheese-like thing underneath the crispy things which I think is coconut. I had this on the last day before I left Ankara thanks to my dear buddy, Akin. :-)

Every dessert fan or anyone who has a sweet tooth must add this to your list of MUST have desserts to eat before you die. So where can you get this super awesome delicious must eat dessert? Well, you can get it in any MADO ice-cream shops all over Turkey! You would be happy to know that they even opened a branch in MALAYSIA! I never got the chance to visit MADO in Malaysia yet but I heard from my Turkish friends that it's just as good as the one you can get in Turkey. :-)
