First Malacca then Saloma!

On a happier note!We Taylor's Student Ambassadors were sponsored for the trip to Malacca with the Unisa students. We were not suppose to go to the Malacca trip with them but the Unisa lecturers wanted us to join the students to spend more time with them so THANK YOU UNISA!!! Not only did they pay for our trip, they paid for most of our meals too. I feel so lucky and grateful to them! I have no regrets for taking this student ambassador's job without any expectations.

So we went to Malacca for 3 days, 2 nights! Took us about 3 hours or more to reach the place that we were going to stay called De Nice Inn. In conclusion everyone hated this place and was shocked that we were going to stay there for 2 nights. Their rooms are apartment style with 3 rooms in each with 2 bathrooms.

Reception area seems decent.

The room which Caitlin, Sarah and I stayed at.

Living area seems ok.

Kitchen area with no stove and a very dirty water boiler so no one used it.
Bathroom with non-working water heating system and retarded flush which requires you to lift the cap and hook the thing again every time you flush.

I got the master room which floors were covered with ants.

Master bathroom with no hot water too so I was freezing my butt off when I had to shower in cold water for 2 days and has ants too and retarded toilet flush.

Another bad thing that happened was Sarah found cockroaches on her bed and she was screaming and we thought she saw a ghost or something. Hahaha! So we got the staff to change her bed sheets and kill the roaches too of course. The next day, the other girls told us that there were worms inside the toilet, which was damn disgusting.

Now back to the good stuff! The next day, most of the Australians went for the eco-bike tour but some of them wanted to use the time to explore and shop instead so we brought them around to eat and shop!

THE FAMOUS AND REAL CHICKEN RICE BALL PLACE!You can't miss this!

Tried the dessert called 'Cendol' here and the portion is big and they even added sago!

After eating, we walked to the mall close by and we bought tickets to watch Ghost Rider 2 so while we're waiting for the movie , the dudes went to kill time in the arcade and some of the girls went shopping and some was chit-chatting.
The boys having a Daytona match!

Movie time! From left: Lilian, Caitlin, Ally, Peilin, Kenny, Michael, Feisal, Nigel and Li Ng.
Ghost Rider 2 was not bad actually, well it's also cause there was scenes filmed in Turkey so I was like holy crap  I think I have been there before. I think they went to Cappadocia too! I love that place, it's so special and beautiful!

So we met up with the rest for dinner at the Portuguese settlement and we had about 9 dishes to 2 big tables which was so much and most of them were seafood too. Again I was starving so I did not think about taking pictures of the food but most of the dishes are pretty yummy! Then it was Jonker Street again for last minute shopping and the ferry ride.

The next morning we had some time before we depart from Malacca at 2p.m  so some of them went to the Malacca Zoo while some of us went go-carting and tried the cow pulley ride. It was my first time riding on one and I warn you that it's gonna be pretty bumpy and a little stinky.

So after we got back from Malacca, on the same night itself we went to Saloma Theater Restaurant to have dinner and watch some cultural performances. It was a buffet style kind of dinner and they have a range of Malaysian food and some Western food too like Char Kuey Teow and kebabs. Too bad I didn't get to take any pictures of it.

Jamie, me, Soo Ann(I just met her on that day and she's a past Unisa student and she's now working in Pricewater and Cooper Malaysia), Skye(one of the Unisa lecturers) and Yean Yi.

Jonathan! He's really funny!

Peilin, Jamie and I.

So as we were watching the cultural dances, they suddenly made an announcement that they want some volunteers to come on stage to learn the dance too. Aimee and I were talking when suddenly, one of the dancers pulled us to the stage. It was so unexpected cause we were trying to look like we're busy so that we won't get picked but looks like it didn't work. LOL

After that dinner, I had to attend the funeral for 3 days so I did not meet the them until Thursday. I will blog about Thursday and their farewell on Friday in the next post!:)

First time attending a funeral

Many things happened to me these past few weeks, one is,I found out that my grandfather passed away right after I got back from the Malacca trip with the Australians. To be honest,I was shocked and I couldn't believe it because he got back from the hospital 3 days before he passed.I had to go for a dinner with the others too and the very same day so I nearly did not want to go for the dinner but my parents said I could go so I did went for the dinner.

After the dinner,I got the lowdown from my parents that he passed because he had heart problems or something. Then, the next few days was his funeral procession. He told my parents how he wants his funeral to be arranged a long time ago before he passed away. The funny thing that happened was after the ambulance came to the scene, my parents wanted to call the police to report his death but before they could do that, the man from the funeral services called them already. Do these funeral services people have a hotline from the hospital or something?

So my dad arranged according to my grandfather's wishes, no praying monks, no burying and no burning paper stuff. He wanted to be cremated and release his ashes to the sea in Klang. Even the man who helped us with the funeral said it was his first time organizing such a simple funeral.

One of my cousin cried the whole 3 days but I didn't, I know I should but I couldn't. I feel sad that he's gone but I am happy that he's with his master right now, not suffering from any sickness. I do get teary a little if I think about him.

The boat that we took to release his ashes into the sea.

The one with the sunnies is my cousin who cried throughout the funeral. She's smiling for the picture.

A funny picture cause my cousin is picking his nose and my uncle is asking my other cousin to take pictures with his phone.

We sail a little further into the sea.

The patch of flowers showed where we dropped his ashes.

Bye-bye grandfather!

P.S:The sea was so polluted omg,I can just imagine the amount of bone debris under the sea.

Buddies with the Australians!

I got a chance to to be buddies with 20 exchange students from University of South Australia with some other Malaysian students too. They have been here since Sunday and they're leaving next weekend. So far it has been pretty fun! I was nervous before I met them because I have never did this buddy thing before but it was nice to meet people from a different part of the world! Most of them are really friendly and excited to be in Malaysia. Here are a few pictures to give you a better look.

I tried the fortune sticks for the first time and my fortune is not that good.:(

This is Lilian, she's actually from China but she has been in Adelaide her whole life. She's really nice!:)

Group picture in front of KLCC!:)

This is Aimee and we're the same age and she was the first one I had a proper conversation with and she's really friendly too.

I'll be going to Malacca with them tomorrow and initially we, the Malaysian students were not suppose to follow them to Malacca but the Australian lecturers were so kind and willing to sponsor us to come along because they want us to spend more time with the Australian students. So thank you so much for sponsoring us, Dr. Tracy and Ms Skye!:)

First shoot with Wesley

I finally had a photoshoot with Wesley after procrastinating since last year. We were always discussing online on having a photoshoot so that he can practice his photography but we never had the time or he forgets about it.Hahaha!Fei Sin and Shurong came along too to help out a little.

Since it was sort of the first time I'm doing this kind of stuff, I felt like such a noob cause I didn't know much poses and my expressions were a little fake too but I did my best! These pictures are the nicest ones.

This was my first lying down shot and I love this one the most!I was going for the piercing through the lens look.

Fei Sin wanted to try silhouette shots so this was with Shurong.

I have a love-hate relationship with this picture.

Also another love-hate relationship with this one.

Love this cause of my colourful top looks so awesome here!

Love this too cause I didn't spoil the picture.Hahaha!

I need more practice on posing and expressions,I need help from Coco Rocha!:)

Anyway,I am a little nervous and excited for the luncheon in another few hours with the Australian students that are in Malaysia for a study tour. They're currently staying in my university's hotel called Ruumz. Hopefully they're nice and I will be able to make some friends there.

Escort for hire

I had some weird and random encounter last week when I was in a bank. I was just waiting in line(cue the Raygun song) to use the ATM to deposit some cash cause I did some online shopping again, when suddenly a man who was waiting in line next to me, started talking to me.

Man: Hi, you have a very nice complexion and your height is also decent. Would you like to work for events?
Me: Umm...sure?
Man: Good, my name is R* and I'm from Singapore. I am selling duty free products especially luxury goods and we need girls like you to help us sell those products to our important clients.
Me: Ok...
Man: Here's my card. I'll contact you soon.

Luckily, it was already my turn so I just left immediately after that. I didn't expect the dude to contact me anymore after that day but he did call around 11a.m the next day and his call woke me up from my awesome possum dream.

Man: Hello, this is R* from yesterday. Did you just wake up?
Me: (half asleep) yes...
Man: How are you going work when you wake up so late?
Me: I'll wake up early when there's a job.

Then, he goes on saying how he wants to meet me for coffee so that he can explain it to me further about the jobs he offered. I told my friends and family about it and they were very worried that he will turn out to be one of those con man and I had those suspicions too.

He was pretty insistent for a while so I just went to visit one of his work events so that I can see what he's actually doing and I brought my little sister and cousin and Shurong too, in case anything fishy happens.

So I went and saw that there was tables filled with branded watches and he seemed pretty happy that I came and he told me about his part time workers there, how long they have worked for him and he how usually pays on the spot after the job is done. He kept insisting me to talk to his workers which were students around my age to validate that he's not some con man.

He brought to some Chinese restaurant nearby so that he can tell me more. He sort of shooed my sister, cousin and Shurong to go to another place so he could be alone with me. Then he treated me to lunch and I was like watching his every move in case he tries to put something into my drink or food. So while we're eating he was explaining to me about the type of jobs he did like promoting products, selling stuff in booths, workshops, roadshows and then he said the word ESCORTING.

I was like O_O.What kind of escorting you ask? Well, he said sometimes he will have very important clients coming over and they want a nice beautiful girl to accompany them for a day. Then, he said, this is not the type of escort that you usually heard of from those bars or clubs because my clients are very rich businessmen, the creme de la creme(however you spell it),the high society people with high buying power.

Man: The reason I really want you to work for me was because you can do a job as a promoter and as an escort. If you want fast money then you can earn about RM500-RM1000 per day if you work as an escort.
Me: Oh...ok...
Man: Not everyone can work as an escort and we will always train our girls before we send them to their jobs. So which job do you want to do first? Actually when you told me that your parents don't trust me,I got cold feet(In my head:Say what?-_-lll). I don't really like mummy's and daddy's girl to work for me cause they are not open enough to try new things or take risks.
Me: I would like to start slow and I'm pretty open minded but of course I still have to tell my parents what I'm doing right.
Man: I understand. I come from a conservative family. I was a Cambridge student also and I usually hire people that don't smoke and have good behavior so that if anything happens,  my business license won't be revoked.
Me: Uh-huh...ok.

After lunch with him, we went back to the place where he's selling his watches and he had to go help adjust someone's watch strap so he was busy for a while then I went to do some investigating so I asked his part-time workers if he's a trust able person and the dude said, well, I'm just working here cause he pays the cash upfront but since you're a girl, I suggest you be a little careful. In my head, I was thinking, WHY ME?!. Then, R* came and he said, if you work for me you will learn business skills that they will never teach you in university and it will give you exposure to important people since you're studying journalism and networking is important for you when you want to interview an important person. My little sister called me at that moment to ask if I was ok and her called sorta helped me to get away from him. So I said gooodbye and told him I would tell my parents about it.

Meet up with my sister and the others at a nearby cafe and told them everything that happened and when they heard the word ESCORT, they were like O_O this too. Hahaha! Told my parents about it and they almost went bananas after they heard the word ESCORT. My mum said, He's a PIMP! DON'T CONTACT HIM ANYMORE!. I know it's a serious matter but their reactions are so funny. Hahaha!

I told R* that I can't work for him and he said he expected it but he hoped that we could go out to get some coffee someday and asked me to ask my friends if they are interested with the job offer. No way Jose that I am gonna let my friends work as escorts. I feel bad for ignoring but I did sense something fishy was going on as he was talking to me that day so I shall trust my intuition.

My god this is a really long post. I really hope that my story will help you guys to be more careful to whichever stranger that approaches you and ask you to do something that your heart is telling you not to do even if the money is very tempting. Just ignore the person even when the person calls and if that person is still persistent, go to the police. Of course, for my case, the dude is still trying to contact me and I'm ignoring it. Hopefully,he gives up and leaves me alone.

My dog killed a butterfly

I was not there when it happened but according to my little sisters, a small white butterfly flew into the house at night and my dog,Ding Ding was chasing it and stopped when it was standing on the wall. Then she used her paw and smashed that poor butterfly! For some reason,I think it's very cute cause it was not expected at all but also sad for the innocent butterfly.

How can a dog so cute like her kill an innocent butterfly with her paw?!

P.S:I think Ding Ding looks way better when the hair in front of her face is short. Not many dogs can look good with short hair or maybe I'm just biased.Hahaha!

Got a letter from Mexico yesterday and I knew it was from Regina cause she told me she was going send me something when we had our last Skype session last year, time passes fast when you least expect it!She sent me this beautiful picture she took when she was in New York for her part-time job in an art magazine.I really think she takes really beautiful pictures! Her pictures that she took when she was in Turkey are really beautiful too!You can check it out here in her Tumblr, unless you're Spanish or you can read Spanish then you will understand what's she blogging cause I can't even read or speak Spanish haha but I go there to look at her pictures.

Well,it's time for me to start replying her postcard!I have been procrastinating to send postcards to my friends and host families and it is because of Skyrim.Skyrim has taken over my lifeless life and also my duty as the driver for my little sisters.Skyrim is awesome, once you start playing it,you can never stop...XD
